Tennessee Republican Party Chairman Scott Golden Denounces Violence in Washington

Scott Golden, chairman of the Tennessee Republican Party, condemned the violence in Washington, D.C., and said the GOP is the party of law and order, a sentiment expressed by several state leaders.

Golden made the statement Wednesday in an email as well as on Facebook, which is available here.

It’s an extremely emotional day for all of us that poured our heart into President Trump’s campaign. We have the right to be heard, but not to the point of violence and destruction. The Republican Party is the party that supports law enforcement, rights, and the rule of law, and not defunding the police. Today’s perpetrators will be brought to justice and the truth will come to light. For now, let’s act responsibly, pray for our country and our leaders, and get ready to Make America Great Again.

Golden’s statement was similar to one that President Donald Trump made on Twitter, saying, “I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order – respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you!”

Other Tennessee Republicans spoke against the violence.

Governor Bill Lee tweeted, “The violence happening in our nation’s capitol is inexcusable and an affront to our founding principles and freedoms. I stand with our Tennessee delegation that order must be restored immediately and thank law enforcement for their professionalism.”

Lt. Governor Randy McNally (R-Oak Ridge) tweeted, “Today is the day we traditionally certify the election of the new president. It is a sacred process central to our republic. The orderly and peaceful transfer of power is a hallmark of our nation’s democracy. Any attempt to stop or subvert that process by force is unacceptable.”

Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R-Crossville) tweeted, “Peaceful assembly is a founding principle of our republic. Just like the events in Nashville last May, what is happening in Washington right now is chaos, it is violence, and it must stop. Those who are defying our laws must be held accountable for their despicable actions.”

The demarcate that just opened his mouth and regurgitated hateful comments about the Nation Guard in D. C. places a serious look on ALL Tennessee people. I always liked and respected Tennessee until this happened. Recall or force him to resign he has no place in America politics. Very disturbing. Where are you Tennessee? Great Americans have come from your state in our history, what happened to you? God Bless America!!

I’m as upset and just plain pissed off as anyone about the corruption in GA and a few other states that allowed the donks to steal the Presidency and the Senate. I will NEVER recognize Biden as a legitimately elected President. He may be listed as #46, but with an asterisk next to his name pointing to a footnote that says “Was installed as President by a bunch of cowards who lacked the backbone and/or integrity to correct the corruption-riddled and fraudulent election.”

That said, we have to recognize that there were some Trump supporters — probably only a small handful — in Washington yesterday behaving in a manner that nobody can be proud of. Those who violated the law need to be prosecuted for it, as should have happened after all of the Antifa/BLM riots over the past 7-8 months. The fact that it didn’t happen then in no way means it shouldn’t happen now. Yes, it’s unfair and so is the MSM’s coverage of yesterday’s events. So what else is new…the world is unfair. Get over it, and then let’s get busy trying to find a way to save our country from Biden and his criminal accomplices.

The democrats played this like a fine tuned fiddle. They will do anything to destroy Trump and separate him from his base, something the democrats have been able to accomplish. The Democrats are afraid of Trump they have never had anyone fight back like him, most republicans are useless wimps and the democrats know it. They want Trump gone to never return and to destroy his base in the process and permanently alienate him from his base To be in Washington with that bunch of political back stabbing snakes looks like would it make any decent person want to leave as quickly as possible!.

As a life long Republican, 49 years of voting, I can no longer support the RINO`s that represent our State. They fold at the slightest push by the media and the Democrats.
I wonder what they would call the Boston Tea Party now? Or the “insurrection” in Lexington and Concord against the British in 1775?

Just wish the unlawful elections got as much media coverage. I am concerned that the spineless GO will just try sweep this very real problem under the rug. I heard one Texas Rep say that he had not business telling another state how to run its election. That is a real cop out. The idea is not to set the rules for another state. Rather to force the state to provide proof that its election is conducted in an honest and legal manner. That is the kind of spineless person I am referring to.

Time for Tennessee to succeed from the union. #Tennexit

We can follow Texas, After all they are our sister State.

Bruce, I second that. Not sure if it can be called a union much longer though.

Well, as much as I hate to have to say it, a few idiots put conservative causes back 25 years. Those that did it should be prosecuted. I know. I know, the BLM and antifa crowd was never held responsible for their violence. That irritates the crap out of me. But you know what, we as conservatives should be leading by example. The next 4 years I am going to pray even more and that’s something the “INO Religious Liberals”, that claim to be religious, will never get. You can’t say it’s OK to kill the unborn by “protecting choice” and follow Christ or your religion of choice and violate God given principles. Lord Come Quickly.

Spare us with your moral high ground conservative example BS. There is no difference between the GOP & DNC. The people are no longer buying this fake facade of government and elections mean absolutely nothing besides a dog and pony show. Sit back on your high horse living a lie until Tyranny knocks your front door.

Super KUDOs to you for being smarter than the average bear. Not too many people left that can put 2 + 2 together anymore.

Given the amount of people at the event yesterday there is no doubt that there were some Trump supporters that engaged in violence. But most of the people engaging in this behavior were Antifa, BLM, and others who showed up and were bussed in to cause trouble. This is why you didn’t see rioting after November 3rd when the presidency was called for Joe Biden. We will know more about the 50 or so people that were arrested in the coming days and their affiliation. But don’t expect the left and MSM to talk about anything but the Trumpers that were arrested.
